Shaun Lunt Memorial Fund

First off, I hope you don't mind me posting this Norm. After reading the "Out the Window" photo thread I found myself once again drawn to Shaun Lunt's website checking out his incredible photos. While I was there I just noticed there was a link to a memorial fund that was set up in Shaun's name. I don't know how I never noticed it before or if it has been mentioned on BCP before, but anyhow I figured if it was set up in Shaun's name it must be for a great cause to honor him so I made a donation. I am hoping maybe Norm can provide a little information to fill us in a little on Shaun's memorial fund and maybe get a few contributions to it. The website for Shaun's Memorial Fund is http://www.mivoden.com/home/shaunluntmemorial/

Re: Shaun Lunt Memorial Fund

Thanks, Bill, for highlighting this. You asked if I could give a little info about the fund we created.

Shaun spent a lot of money on his Super Cub (as you guys can understand from personal experience) but he also gave generously of his time and money to help others. One of the major goals of his life was to give something back to the world and to make it a better place because he had been here.

When Shaun died, we established the Shaun Lunt Memorial Fund to provide a stream of support for a cause that was of paramount importance to him. This is a Christian summer camp that he first attended as a youth and then later worked at for a few summers during college as a staff member. A Christian summer camp experience can be a life-changing experience for many kids. It's far more than just having fun and doing activities. But many youth cannot afford to go and that's where this Scholarship Fund comes in. This Fund allows the Administrative staff and others to provide the financial assistance to those young people who come from families that could not otherwise afford to send their children.

A few months ago we were approaching the $10,000 mark. The donations to this worthy cause are, of course, tax deductible.

I know that Shaun would be deeply moved to know that he was helping to make a difference in the lives of young people ~ even in his absence.

And I know that Shaun would want to thank you for your support ~ but since he can't, I'll do it for him. Thanks!
