Shipping aircraft

I know of several aircraft shipped out of Tracy CA. There is an outfit on the airport there that does the disassembly and packing. The last time I was there the shipping containers were stacked 2 or 3 deep along one side of the runway. If you want to do it yourself, several have shipped out of Camarillo CA. You can usually round up some help from the local EAA Chapter (723).

Don't forget to add to the purchase price - about $7000 for a 20ft container / $14000 for a 40ft container and customs clearance, plus about $30,000 in paperwork, certification, and reassembly costs when it arrives in Aussie / NZ.
So generally, add about $40k to any purchase price in the States. Usually, it still works out cheaper than buying local...
