Shirts are sold out....next BCP product: Hats!

We have a single size Small BCP t-shirt left. Woo hoo! We sold em all, and I only gave 10 away to various people, including 6 to my own family. Thanks to everyone who bought one for helping to support the site and for representing the community out in the real world.

So, next item: I'm thinking hats. Baseball caps and jungle brim hats. I know an embroidery guy in Medford with an incredible machine, so the only step left (as usual) is to find hats that are worthy of our pilot heads. No button, one size fits all elastic, unstructured.

So, any feedback or requests? How many of you are interested in donning a BCP hat? I promise it will be a cool design.

Haha yeah Gilligan hat = bad.
I got mine at the military surplus, and they had several sizes. I will look into it.

This is the best hat I've ever owned.

Same style as the AOPA hat, it works.

this is just my two cents but if people want to use headsets the baseball cap style is much easier on the head I would think....with the floppy hat the sides get in the way...anyway just my opinion....count me in for one either way.

Hats

How about offering both, embroidery being the same shouldn't be much difference in cost. And how about some more t-shirts, I missed the bus on that one and I don't think that I can fit into a small (bud's will think I stole my little bro's T).

UM, a few replies...

- Nope, not me. I don't look nearly as good as anyone on that site.

- Yup, the Tilley is damn fine fer fishin'.

- The sides of the Tilley fold up out of the way of your earphones very nicely.

- Believe it or not, I don't work for nor do I own stock in Tilley!

Hey,

I'd be all over the hat idea. I missed out on the shirts too. Also interested in the decals.

As for the hat, my vote is for doing both. I wear baseball caps and am always looking for cool aviation related hats to wear. Just make sure the baseball caps don't have the 90 degree bill board type design (read as farmer hat) between the bill and the front of the cap. Again, the AOPA cap is a pretty good one, although I wish that it had a little less support in the front of the cap and was more form fitting.

Lastly, do them in a dark color...like the olive color for the shirts. Anything light colored just shows the dirt too easily and isn't conducive to playing in the backcountry.

Hats

If baseball caps: can they be made without the button on top?

After a couple of hours the headset tries to drive the button through the top of my head. Murphy's law dictates the best position for the headset and hat will locate the headset on top of the button.

Zane:

Here is a link to a type of ball cap I have found to be very comfortable. Several companies put these out (not just High Speed Gear).

No top button in these caps. Obviously don't need the velcro tactical patch attachments. The cap I have is the one from TRG. The tag on the inside says it's brand is "OTTO", and of course is made in China.

P.S., I have one in Olive Drab as well, and the tag inside say's "Lunada Bay Wearables, California"; so maybe that is a company to seek out.

TomD beat me to it. Definately no button on top. Sporty's also has some hats in it that don't have the button that look like they might work.

Good work, people. I'll check into those brands mentioned. Of course we don't need no stinking button on top. I bumped my head on the roof of a car that some buddies and I jumped one time, and drove that button into my scalp. Ouch. These must be moderate-turbulence safe hats.
