Re: Skalywag stars in Waterfall Session

A couple questions on the narration:
1) I assumed Llano was pronounced "Yano", Spanish style, but Zane said "Lano". ??
2) I thought Llano was in the central Texas hill country, but Zane mentioned West Texas. Was the video shot in west Texas or in the hill country?

Re: Skalywag stars in Waterfall Session

1) I pronounced it like every other person I encountered in Lanno.

2) Luke is from west Texas, we were flying in the hill country. There was no time to send the copy to the editors.

West Texans and Tjanos speak different languages but ride the same horses. They have both been there quite a long time, so everything has one name with two ways to pronounce it. I speak hillbilly as well so I am tri-lingual.

Lots of times Local pronunciation differs from conventional pronunciation.

Example :

Mexican Mountain Strip and Hidden Splendor strip are located in the San Rafael Swell.

Being from the area I call it the San Ra fell Swell. Everybody not raised in the area calls it the San Ra fe ell Swell.

Also another town in Utah is Hurricane Pronounced Hurrikun by the locals. :D

Re: Skalywag stars in Waterfall Session

So I just watched this with my five-year old boy. Here's part of the running commentary from the airport start-up scene:

Papa, is he going to take off from a road?

No son, some runways are paved... :P :-P :-P

p.s. Great vid

Re: Skalywag stars in Waterfall Session

I always told my young crop dusting students they needed to get a mean wife or second job to make it through the winter. I didn't mean to just polish their plane all winter. Shining it once doesn't make it stay shinny.

Very nice.

Re: Skalywag stars in Waterfall Session

Zane, I can wait for that Bearhawk ride, it'll be worth it! Super happy for ya'll, ETA is gettin real close =D>

AKT, hangin the freshly overhauled engine this week, long as everything goes somewhat smooth gonna be shootin out the following Tuesday for Nevada, woohoo!!!

Camtom, OMG dude, if Evan is that desperate for models he's got way bigger problems than needing to go faster :D

Contactflying, a friend of mine gave me a copy of your book about a year after I started flying, been milking ground effect for all its worth ever since, Thank You! I don't have a mean wife but plenty of work, somehow I usually keep the salt washed off my horse but its a lot less trouble than folks makes it sound to keep er shiny.

Thanks for the kind words from the rest of ya'll, if anybody ever wants to fly in the Big Bend (AKA Far West Texas) give me a shout
