Ski pilots in the Jackson WY or Driggs ID Area?

Hi all -

I've been flying in and around Jackson and Driggs for about 6 years, but have not seen many other backcountry pilots, especially on skis around here. Is there anyone ski flying nearby? I'd love to connect with some local pilots.

I fly a Carbon Cub out of KDIJ on bushwheels in the summer and skis in the winter. Here are some vids I posted for my pilot friends from California and Denver:

So, you got some skis for that CC? Great! I'll be over to Driggs at some point (they have a great cafe right at the airport for those that don't know) and you are certainly welcome to land my strip anytime. Interesting timing....I had forgotten your stated intention last year to get skiied up, good deal. I was feeling like the Lone Ranger. Lot's of good places to play in between our two areas.

First post......... Welcome....

As you know, most of the land around this area in Federal and OFF LIMITS to us that like to have fun... No float planes on Jackson Lake, Slide Lake, no bush flying in the BTNF etc, etc, Courrierguy, AKA Tom, is the closest ski pilot to us... I have a Zenith 801 , but it being a nosedragger is not friendly to skis....

If ya want to fly 20 minutes from Driggs, feel free to play on my private ranch /runway. 2WY3... It has about 5 feet of snow on it now..

Ben - thanks for the reply - Agreed, the area that the Feds control is NOT FRIENDLY TO PILOTS. However, there are plenty of private and state land, and I've landed much of both. I appreciate your invitation, next time I skfly I'll make my way to Haas Airport... I'll PM you before I do to see if you're around.

There's a guy in St. Anthony that flies his Weedhopper on skis, in fact, that's the only time he flies it. I don't think he goes far though, and according to resident alumni of the hopper, that's a good thing. I'll tell him about it though. Is the ski landing in Driggs the same as the grass runway in the Summer? I was just there and didn't notice.

Same indeed... Also there are many open fields in the area.
