Long time STOL pilot here in the UK with a near lifelong obsession with the Fiesler Storch,
I’m looking for Slepcev Storch pilots worldwide, especially those in Australia with certified models for assistance & background information on the design importing an airframe into the UK as a permit aircraft under the auspices of the Light Aircraft Association.
There’s only one on the UK register built in the UK in 2004 and that was a problematic build due to inconsistencies in the kit and specification. As a result there’s large reservations about allowing any more onto the register. Previous owner has posted on here but it’s now in new hands.
Mere US experimental category isn’t acceptable, it seems some Australian airframes may have CASA VLA compliance certification which would be viewed more favourably? Trying to get my head round what local approvals people might be operating one under worldwide to aid my case that they aren’t falling out of the sky.
Longhaul Virgin Atlantic 787 pilot our of Heathrow so if you have a Storch vaguely near one of our destinations worldwide I’d love to come take a look at your example.
