Slow server
A general forum for anything related to flying the backcountry. Please check first if your new topic fits better into a more specific forum before posting.
I wasn't very active on the forum before because when I accessed BCP from work (yeah, yeah) it would take 30 seconds to pull up the forum. 30 seconds to change a page, 30 seconds to post a reply. BCP 3.0 is downright snappy from work. Page loads are on par with all other Internet sites now. Don't know what's different about this server but I like it.

Different hosting company, different data center, different network routes.

Very slow for me so far, at home and at work. Work means on the smart phone. At home now, it took about 30 seconds from the time I clicked on the reply icon for the page to change. I almost forgot what I was going say

It looks great Z - well done and thanks for all your hard work!
We can deal with a slow BCP for a while.... I guess it's a bit like flying the S7 while the 185 gets repaired.

Ok . We all know it's slow and it's gonna have a teething period. I say let's stop bugging our illustrious webmaster and give him a chance to work things out. We don't want him working like a dog and getting too tuckered and frustrated. I think Id hang myself if faced with this work load.

Well I'm a happy camper. BCP is as fast as Supercub for my Linux. Maybe it's the switch to 64 bit because that's what my Sabayon operating system is.

Really a lot more fun here.

Bottom of every page is a couple options to support.

New version works fine on my desktop. But my Android... Forget it. It can take as long as five minutes a page to load, both with 3G and WiFi.
Where do I find Tapatalk?

OK with Tapatalk, crashes Safari on iPhone. Haven't looked on a desktop yet.
Gump, Tapatalk is on App Store for the Apple products. Not sure about Android.

I'll do some testing on the phone web browser formats. I definitely need a better solution there because all the stuff that's loaded for the main site just isn't needed in tiny phone format.
For forum stuff, I haven't bothered using Safari on my iPhone since Tapatalk came out. It's the way to go. Gump, it's just an app in the Google Play store. Install it, search for "backcountry pilot" and sign in. It's pretty user friendly.
