Now if they would only show us how it does in some real snow rather than the 6" they're running in. Hope it does alot better than the crappy ones that were made in the 70's. They were heavy and you couldn't keep them from throwing the track.
We have a set of those. Ours may be a larger model. They are designed for a 3/4 ton truck. We don't get action like that even on packed roads. They do hold up well and have never thrown a track. They are very hard on our truck. The steering takes a lot of abuse and we have to keep everything tight that holds the rear end in place.
My boss put a set of tracks like that on his polaris razr. Don't know if they are the same size as those though. But they worked awesome out mtn lion hunting. We were running around in a couple feet of snow and you couldn't tell until you stepped out and sank up to your knee Made it a very impressive machine, it'll go anywhere and climb any hill. Only downside is it really takes a lot of fuel to turn all that track.
We use them on a ATV too. Sumbitch will go anywhere. Just don't be behind it when traveling through golf-ball sized rocks Those tracks throw more rocks than my Goodyear 8.50's on a bounced landing
Oh, and I saw this the other night when looking for something else. When nothing else will do for snowmobiling base camp
I have always wanted a set of Mattrax. I have been kicking around a project, a 4X4, diesel powered VW Camper with a set of Mattrax. I have a lot of the parts (Camper, diesel engine and automatic, Divorced Transfer case and axles) now just need time and money (and a set of 6 lug Chevy Mattrax). Check out this link, not as civilized as a WRX but sure looks like fun: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_iup2jXQqI
