Some braai and a H295?

Not sure if anyone goes on the African forums, but saw this and thought I’d share, no affiliation with the seller

Not braai, but I found some Droe Wors at Ruldoph's butcher shop in Telkwa.

I wonder why the West favoured black for instrument panels and the East was partial to a similar light green as on this one.

Talk about a lovely plane! Not sure if you could legally import it back into the United States though. It has a GSO-480 in it, which, from a performance standpoint must be spectacular, is not legal as far as I can tell in this country. The prop is also a bit of an unknown, not a standard Helio prop and not listed on any known STC or 337 that I have ever seen. Import legality aside, it is a beautiful plane with clean looking sheet metal and some great little simple mods like the NACA vent on the cowl and the repositioned defrost vents. If you can find a way to import it I want a ride! If you can't find a way to import it legally, I still want a ride!

Thanks, I wondered about that supercharged engine. A Helio 295 crashed between Bettles and Fairbanks many years ago. Investigation found that the turbocharger started an engine fire, and the result was ugly. I assumed that airplane was factory produced, but maybe field approved???
