Somehow, it always gets back to flying/6' sturgeon

I had a guy call about possibly installing a hydroelectric system on his property, and I drove out to check it out. As you can see at one time it already HAD a hydro system, back in the 20's and 30's this undershot wheel was used for a slaughterhouse, grinding bones to feed the fish farm upstream!.Image I found a business in Germany that is the world leader in the arcane art of wheel power hydro, (http://www.hydrowatt.de/sites/english/g ... wr_01.html) and with their help we should have a very cost effective system.

The owner mentioned today as I was leaving,"did you see the sturgeon"? It turns out there is a 6' sturgeon in a 40' pond, spring fed, that has been there for decades. It's free to leave but just likes it there. It was stocked by someone back in the 60's or 50's!Image

Also on the way out, I mentioned to the owner that I was going to get him some aerial pics of the extensive property, and that lead to talking flying (he doesn't, wants to, I do and also want to, a lot) and next thing I know we're checking out a field on the property just messed up enough to be interesting: an approach through some trees, power lines on one end, fairly short etc. And I now have full permission to fly in and out of it! Unlike all my other job sites that are over 100 miles away and in very remote country, this place is only 20 some miles away, and, just for something different, less then 2 miles from the Pocatello tower! No problem there, I already gave them a heads up, and we all agree traffic permitting it shouldn't be a problem. Somehow I always get the airplane involved in these jobs :D
