Spacers to mount 8.50x6 tires on a 99 7gcbc?
Have you modified your aircraft? STC? STOL Kit? Major rebuild from just a data plate?

I just ordered a set of desser smooth 8.50x6 tires and tubes. Does anyone know if I will need to find axle or brake disc spacers to mount These on my 1999 7gcbc?

They should go on 6" wheels with no problem, unless you have clearance issues from the sidewall to the brake caliper, the you'll need the spacers.

Half a century spent proving “it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”
You should be fine Gordon. My 31s just barely rubbed on the bottom side, and never had problems with regular 8.50s.

No spacers on my 7GCBC, either with the 8:50x6 or the 26" ABW on stock wheels and brakes. Maybe because the pads are worn, I'll know when I rivet on some new ones next annual. You might get lucky.

I think i will just wait till the tires come and see if i need spacers. Sounds like i probably wont need em.

I installed the smooth 8:50 x 6's and the calipers rub on the tires so I do need spacers. I checked with airframe Alaska, they wanted $190 for the spacers and longer bolts, this seems high. Does anyone know where I can get spacers at a more reasonable price. By the way, I really like the tires. they are not bushwheels but are quite an improvement over the stock 6:00 x 6.
