Don't know where you are in your Itinerary today but The Midway had a couple huge screens up on deck for the olympics so It might be crowded.. but then it's usually always crowded anyway...Gas at Brown field next to Tijuana was $5.60 on Friday at First Flight on the west end of the field and there were a couple of F 18's and a C 130 parked on the ramp as I taxied by. You never know what you might see at Brown........ I wouldn't buy gas anywhere else in San Diego county, unless you want to pay a dollar a gallon more...Hemet is even cheaper as is Corona and Big Bear...There's a 170 fly in or convention this weekend at French Valley in Temecula.. Don't know what gas is there and the restaurant is So So... Hemet has a great breakfast..and you can park in front of your table...enjoy.. our weather is the best.... :D

Spanish Fork UT (U77) to Oceanside (KOKB)

We had a few un-expected family things that came up so I didn't get to make it down to the Midway. I also ended up having to head back to Utah Saturday for some work stuff. Got stuck in Cedar City on the way back waiting out some nasty looking summer thunderstorms, but it all worked out. The pilots lounge there had big recliner chairs and the Olympics on the tv.
Gas at Oceanside was only $5.64, which is not bad really. Sorry I didn't get to meet up with anyone while I was out there. Lots of family thing happening and with the few surprise unplanned events I didn't get to fly as much as I would have liked.
Thanks for all the help with planning and things to see and do while there. You guys rock!

Thanks everyone - I do feel lucky that my wife likes to fly with me, although she does close her eyes on short final on some of the backcountry strips!
