Spokane, WA area?

Hey Everyone! I'm searching for a place or a person around the Spokane area that can help me get current again, and I eventually want a tail-wheel endorsement and some backcountry instruction. I'm a Comm, Instrument, SEL/MEL pilot with 2200 hours total, but only about 300 Airplane. I'm a helicopter pilot by profession with lots of backcountry Alaska and Colorado time in a Helicopter, but haven't flown an airplane in about 5 years. Does anyone know a place around that could help me out? I know there is a couple places around, NWFlight school at GEG is closets to me but I've had enough experiences with big 141 schools, I'm looking for a little more home town let's just fly for fun kind of place that eventually could help me get some backcountry instruction. Know anyone around?

Welcome Alaska Pilot,

E-mail me at [email protected] and I will attach 82 pages of notes
on techniques. Since you have helicopter time you will appreciate the apparent brisk walk rate of closure approach for airplanes as well.

Hi Contact

Would you be willing to share those notes with others as well? I have several thousand hrs of mostly off airport flying. It is always great to continue learning. Especially from folks with some old fashioned common sense techniques.

Hello,

If you are just looking to rent an airplane, the closest is "Action Aviation" in CoeurD'Alene (one tired 172), Deer Park (?), or Interstate Aviation in Pullman (lots of airplanes). Good Luck

Try Rick Gieger www.montanabyair.com in Cutbank, for tailwheel, windy, off and on field instruction.
