Spool up the projector... great FAA density altitude video
Links to general aviation backcountry flying-oriented videos. It can be yours or stuff you find on the internet. Please no airline/military.
Update: A friend is flying out west right now with some forecast heat so I was obligated to send him Harry Bliss and his Bonanza adventures. I've updated the dead video link.

Half a century spent proving “it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”
Today
Mammoth Yosemite Airport has a DA 10,181 FT (ISA +54F). Gusts up to 25kts with turbulence. The Sierra Mountains are beautiful but deadly.
Don’t get caught with Steve Fossett syndrome:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Fossett#Death On July 9, 2009, the NTSB declared the probable cause of the crash as "the pilot's inadvertent encounter with downdrafts that exceeded the climb capability of the airplane. Contributing to the accident were the downdrafts, high density altitude, and mountainous terrain."[97]
