Looking fwd to responses.

My wife is coming, as she does on most of my trips. Bring her along and, if you need to put up a front of roughing it, leave the inflatable mattress at home. :D

Hey Gary,

Thanks for the intel on the Kids. We are really looking forward to it.

We'd like some shirts too. 1 Large for me. 1 Small for my wife. If you do a kid size, 1 3T. Don't worry about it if you don't. I know there won't be much demand for kid sizes.

Thanks again for all your work and effort. This is the right address to email the release to, right? [email protected]

Re: Spring Utah Fly-in Pt 2

I went over and talked wth Rod yesterday.
Rooms $30/room/night. Not sure if they will be finished or not, But you can use them, so bring and air mattress or pad if you want, and a sleeping bag.

He is going to prepare a dinner one night(Sat.) for those interested, and we will have to know how many want to participate in that, so he knows how much food to get. The menu will be burgers, chicken, potatoes, beens, green salad w/dressings, AND, strawberry shortcake for desert. He will have coffee goin most of the time and water. The cost $25/person.

I will do a breakfast Sat. and Sun. mornings, but if you want that, let me know so I can plan it.
It will include pancakes, sausage, eggs, juice milk for $8/Person.

Rod said a lot of people are contacting him about stuff. The best thing is to contact me because I am trying to keep things organized. I have the lists going on who's comeing and what they want.

You can start sending your checks for what you want to me if you like to me

Dinners $25/person, available Sat.night only.
Breakfast $8/Person available Sat, and Sun mornings.
Rooms $30/room/night as many nigts as you want.
Tent camping $10/night/space
T shirts $15 ea.

Some recommended things to bring

It would be a good idea to have a 1/2 gallon or more of water in your plane incase you get stuck somewhere for awhile.

Tie downs

Hiking boots.

Sunscreen

Hand held radio

Paper and pencil so you can leave a note of where you plan to fly, so we know where to look if you don't return

Re: Spring Utah Fly-in Pt 2

I'm not asking you guys for money, but several had wanted to pay early, and I appreciate that. Rather work on your money than mine :) , or atleast have some help. My pockets aren't that deep these days. Mostly just need to know how many to plan on so we have enough, without havin to throw away a bunch of stuff . Niether Rod or me have much experience with this sort of thing, so just doin what we can to make it go fairly smoothly, and keep all happy. [-o<

I didn't want to collect until I had verified the prices with Rod.

I will post some videos from yesterday of landing and taking off for those that are't familiar with the area so that you have an idea of what to expect.

Re: Spring Utah Fly-in Pt 2

Gary,
I looked at the video's with my wife. Really a nice strip. I made out the check and will send it Monday. Still waiting on the insurance agent but I have never met one that wouldn't take my money so I will send the waiver form later when I have the policy in hand. Just a reminder for others also, I ordered the Fly Utah books so if I get another snow storm before winter gives up I will be ready with some quality reading.

Re: Spring Utah Fly-in Pt 2

Recommended things to know and do, as I think of others I will update this post

122.9 is the backcountry radio frequency. Try to keep the chatter down on this freq. Use it to announce your intentions and position reports. The local tours use this also.

122.75 and 122.85 ar designated frequencies for plane to plane talk, chatter, bs'ing. People use others when these are busy, but do so at your own risk.

I recommend occasional position reports just to help others in your area be aware that you are there, and to be watching for you. It is easy to get caught up looking at the scenery and not paying as much attention to the rest of your environment. Lets help each other be safe.

If you have a gps download these strips into it so you know where you are if you are unfamiliar with this area. With my Garmin, I can download to a clipboard then upload to friends Garmins and they have all my waypoints. Takes a couple minutes. Don't know about th other gps's.
