Stearman parts

Have you modified your aircraft? STC? STOL Kit? Major rebuild from just a data plate?

Stearman parts

I know this is not a backcountry issue, but I hope someone here can help me. I am interested in doing some mods to my 450 Stearman, and I have not been able to find what I need elsewhere. What I am looking for is:

1) wheel pants (boots)
2) Beech 18 or BT-13 cowling
3) BT-13 exhaust

If anyone know who I can call or where to look, I would appreciate the info.

Eduardo, I have a friend who pulled a 450 off from a Stearman for a fellow in FL. a couple of years ago and put a 220 back on, he might know where to find some of this stuff, Monte Zema 509-684-5348 kinda hard of hearing so talk loud when you get in touch. There is another fellow that Zema knows just north of here who has semi truck vans and a barn full of Stearman parts, he will have the #.
Greg who runs the Airport in Guyman OK. also has knowledge of all kinds about round motors and such all over N Texas. Last time I was there, there were a couple of DC3's and 4-5 18's there. You might want him on your list of go to guys. He overhauled my 18 many years ago and gave me my check out in it, 3 landings and said, taker to AK And good Luck??

Try these guys out of Canada. They built me a new R-1340 exhaust and it was beautiful.

Eduardo:

Pete and Rowena Mason have a lot of Stearman stuff. Give them a call and you may get lucky.

Rowena Mason Cell: 805-377-1463

I talked with her today, and told her that you may call.

Brian, I would be interested in the canopy enclosure. Could you send me a picture when you find it?

I know exactly where it is.... I'm not sure how much of it is there.... Old WW2 friend of ours had a Stearman that we let him park in a hanger on our place... When he passed we inherited the wing and the canopy parts... He never installed it.... It's still in his old hanger on top of some shelving...

Re: Stearman parts

WOW Brian, I've never seen a canopy for a Stearman. Is what you have a complete setup? I have never considered putting a canopy on my airplane, but. I'll consider it.

About the wing, which one is it? Is it in good condition?

I have no idea if it is complete.... It has been sitting up there going on at least 30-35 years.... My friend bought it but never installed it... The wing is upper right... Probably only good for the metal.. Spars might be ok... It's been up there for just as long as the canopy... My friend died probably 20 years ago now... The airplane was sold a couple of years later...

If your interested in the canopy, make me an offer I can't refuse...
