Stehekin is open and weather is going to be fine!

Think I will go over through Cascade pass and enjoy the scenery.

Anyone else?

How was Stehekin? Which route is Cascade Pass? Couldn't find it on google maps. Is that the Darrington to Chelan route you mentioned on the discussion on the PNWflying board?

Stehekin was gorgeous yesterday !

Here are some pics.

Approaching Cascade Pass from Marblemount direction:

Image

If you follow the Cascade River to the South from Marblemount and take the second drainage to the left it will take you over the 5400 ft. Cascade pass by Trapper Lake. Then easy 500 fpm descent into Stehekin.

Did the straight in approach instead of the "slot" approach due to tailwind.

Drift camera makes landing look better than it was.

Nice video and pictures.

Can you give a field report? The video makes it looks pretty smooth. Is that the case?

The strip is in great shape. As usual the North end has lots of loose rocks and thin grass.

Landing uphill on 31 is the way to go. Get on the ground by the parking area and you will be stopped before you get to the bare spots.

Tom D,
Do you mind if I add your pictures to the shortfield.com database and/or would you be willing to upload a PIREP, etc.?

Here: Stehekin

Thanks
