It's happening. After spending this week in Reno going through FAA and RARA scrutiny and inspections we are officially a new class at NCAR! Reno has not certified a new class for over 20 years. STOL is now a class! We are elated to say the least. Mark your calendar and come see the show!
Might be worth one more trip to Reno. Haven't been there since 72.
First thought was wow, that's a lot of aviation monetary units of Alaskan rubber being scuffed; or at least until I saw the last pic where the "race" was on the dirt between the runway and taxiway.
I wish them all the luck. Reno needs another highlight since the low pay for the big races keep the big guns in the hangars now.

There is no fly-in/parking on field at KRTS. (No ramp space, no time in the schedule.)
Check airrace.org for lodging info or other usual sources. Some Reno hotels have frequent shuttles to the field.(about 10 miles) Fly in to KRNO, truckee, carson city, minden, etc.
