Storing Atlee Dodge Seats

Just curious if anyone has come up with a creative nice looking way to store the Atlee Dodge Jump seats when not in use. We have thin cushions on them but with our side panels we can't fold them up against the wall. I have a few ideas but just curious what others have done.

The “standard” seems to be bungee cord.

My seats in my C-180J are leather covered and do not store flat either! I need to hold them upright with a bungee cord.

I have BAS seats, not Dodge, but like everyone else I use bungee cords to keep them stowed. Color coordinated to the airplane, of course

If I don't plan to use 'em they are on the 2nd shelf of the work bench in my hangar. Why would I want easy in/out jump seats left in the plane taking up cargo space and room for two (big) dogs?

I built these little aluminum fixtures to store mine with Sellkirk interior, with 2" padding they work easy, clean and well without scratching side pannels. Backrest stays on and bottom just reverses to bottom of seat.

Re: Storing Atlee Dodge Seats

Jumping back on this thread. Have any of you all put different foam in the jump seats? I've sat in mine once and they are awfully uncomfortable. Great excuse to never give up the drivers seat. But I feel for my passengers for anything over an hour. I am wondering about replacing the foam with something thicker but then fear I couldn't fold up the seats to get them out of the way either. Those seats with the selkirk interior look sharp. I think that is what I am looking to do soon.

I sent my backrest and bottom out to Oregon Aero in Scarapoos Oregon. They redid the foam with high density fitted foam. Much more comfortable.

Re: Storing Atlee Dodge Seats

I have the BAS (now lakevue) jump seats in mine. No upholstery or padding, just bare ceconite.
But I've got a throw pillow I take along when I plan on someone being back there.
It's usually on the sofa in my hangar, so real easy to grab on my way somewhere.

Re: Storing Atlee Dodge Seats

My bare-bones BAS seats take up so little room that IMHO there's very little room gained by removing them.
The attraction of jump seats to me is that you can leave them stowed, and have plenty of room for stuff.
But if you unexpectedly end up with pax, like if someone else's plane breaks down & they need a lift home,
you can just fold the seats down & rig the seatbelts and be in the pax-hauling business.
