jomac is right...early to mid june can be pretty wet. I voted for 12-14 because I can't make it later in june but honestly the weather will probably be better later in the month. The water levels will probably be lower then too which will make the fishing better.

Last year we had the fly-in around June 26th and I thought the weather was perfect. There is never any guarantee for good weather. Historically the weather is much better in late June than it is earlier.

That is why I voted for June 26-28. It is challenging enough flying in the backcountry without having to worry about the weather.

It can be very cold there in early June. Been there, done that.

Last year the weather was perfect...but you just never know. All you can do is hedge your bets. It snowed the second week of June last year.

I will chime it to say: Most water in that area is running too fast that time of year for good fishing. :? It gets more fishable in July. Perhaps early to mid July is still safe from fire danger?

There is another fly-in scheduled for the 10-13 of July at JC and I think that after that would be pushing is as far as fires go.

Now come on...we need everyone thinking positive thoughts concerning fires. I'm hoping for another summer like last year!

yeah weather is good then but like i said in posts past... Stream run off was pretty high until about the first or second week of July.. Most places I went were unfishable last year..This years snow fall looks like it is deeper than I remember last years, meaning it will be the same situation... I'm going when I go fly in or not and I want to get in some fishing, which is my second reason for going up there in the first place...

my first reason is the flying... but I dearly love my fly fishing so I'll go a little later.. as I did in past years... 2nd week in July is my best pick for weather and fishing... Fires are a toss up every year. Some years are heavy fire years and others are light...

Looks like June 26-28 has won it. I'll make the reservation with the aeronautics department later today.

You schedule it with them, I'll get it scheduled with the CFO, CEO, and events planning committee. Fortunately for me, she likes to fly. Looking forward to seeing you all again and getting back up north.
