Summit Meadow Airstrip, SE of Mt Hood

I just noticed a new pin on Shortfield.com marking an airstrip south of Mt. Hood. It looks short maybe 1000ft long.

Do any of you know of the history of this airstrip, or its current status? It would be a Jem of a spot for flyin hiking if the USFS could persuaded to remove a few trees and reopen the strip(highly unlikely knowing the USFS). But if there was a past history there might be a chance.

Here is a link to a thread on Pacific NW flying.

I have heard of this historic strip before. The next time that I drive through the area, I will make a point of scoping it out if I have a little extra time.
