Super Stinson - 108-3 upgross possible?
Information and discussion about seaplanes, float planes, and water operations.
Actually, the word I SHOULD have used was "misunderstood", not mistaken. Your post was right on. But, this is an issue that is often "misunderstood".
And, you actually communicated the point pretty well.

Hi,
I'm building a 108 in the experimental category and I'm looking for floats. Could you post all the info you have for the 2425's and where you got it. I'm torn between waiting for a pair of good 2425's and going for a set of 2870's. I'd like to keep as much useful load as possible.
We are looking for people to add float info into the knowledge base so there is somewhere to find it all.

Can't add much other than I had a 108-2 years ago with the big tail because it had a 0-470 and it was a great plane.
Found a set of 2425's but the FAA would only give us a one time authorization if we did spin tests. We decided to call Edo and ask. There quite brief answer was No Way. They only do them with a spin chute so that was the end of our floatplane idea.

I am curious, how did you get a 108 into the experimental category?
