Surplus Aviation sheet metal needs a good home

BCP friends,
We're cleaning up our local airport and the time has come to get rid of a few huge piles of airplane parts that were accumulated by a dearly departed old time mechanic.

The treasure trove is full of all kinds of sheet metal parts- tailfeathers, cowlings, doors, etc. from 152s, 172s, 182s, and Cherokees. I think I even saw a few 210 parts in there.

I have made a few calls around and the usual resellers don't seem super interested in these things, but I really can't bear to have them turned into beer cans just yet. (Even if it's Keystone light, Vick!).

Can anyone suggest a place that would be interested in the collection? I don't want to have to mess with ones and twos- we'd like for someone to take the whole lot. Any proceeds would go towards hangar repairs.

If there's someone in NC, all the better.

Thanks for the help!

-Bill

Your avatar looks like Cox. Is that where the parts are?

Maybe donate the whole shebang to the local EAA for a fundraiser? Should be deductable.... or if there's some youth aviation program? They could piece it out themselves......

Probably all too new for Woods over in Goldsboro to be interested in?

Just a thought.

Good ideas, both! I've actually been browsing a bit on Barnstormers the last day or so and have seen stuff similar to what we have going (or at least listed) for a pretty good price. So given the desire to raise a little cash for the airport, we may consider selling off onesies-twosies in spite of what a said in my original post.

I've also had a few local inquiries from folks needing some of the parts, and am trying to find someone with whom we can trade Cessna / Piper parts for Stinson parts...

P.S. - for what it's worth, I understand Bob has retired, and his son is carrying the torch. But I may call him...

Not sure if these people would be interested (shipping??). But maybe try asking these people. Ask for Linda.
