Survival Vest for my legs

While not directly aviation-related, survival and basic wilderness skills, sometimes called "bush craft" are an important part of flying the remote backcountry.

Survival Vest for my legs

Okay I just don't like wearing vests, of any kind. But I do recognize the need to have some survival gear on my person.

I do like wearing cargo pants, in particular Carhartts. But ever since this stupid stuff started in our country the colors I want (and sometimes the sizes) have been non-existent. And they don't have a ton of pockets.

Years ago I stumbled across https://kitanica.net/ but needed to loose weight before I could try em out. That happened, plus they started making some bigger sizes so it was time to give em a try.

Ordered a couple of pair of their Raider Pants and I am super pleased. Like them much better than my Carhartts and with 13 pockets (some that can even be expanded and used as dump pouches), some MOLLE webbing, knee pad pockets, and a zillion other actually useful features.

They certainly aren't very gray-man but heh, I live in Alaska where they fit right in. Oh, and they are made in America which is a huge bonus. I'm trying to wean myself off made in China crap- not an easy task.

I get that you have extended range, but honestly, just land and find a bush, man.

There are all types of options for cargo'ish pants that will let you blend in a little bit better. The technical hunting brands all have good options (KUIU, Sitka, First Lite, etc) but they can be pretty expensive. There are all sorts of tactical options as well that start at reasonable pricing and go to rediculous only spending tax payer money range. 5.11/Kuhl all the way to Crye/Massif/Beyond. Both hunting and tactical versions have knee pad options. I personally dont like knee pads built into pants unless I am carrying heavy loads. I have used most of these options for work or play (hunting) over the years.

Looks like you are in Alaska so I am not sure how available anything will be up there to try on. You might look to see if there is a fire and rescue shop around that would have some options.
