Survivorman on science channel

Flipping through channels last night I ran across the show survivorman. From the portion I saw, it is about a staged plane crash, in the snow, where the star must survive one week utilizing just what he has from the wreckage of (and this is just wrong) a Maule. I set up the TIVO to record the whole show while I'm at work today.

It is airing on The Science Channel

For those with Direct TV

My kids love this guy!
Maule could hire some spin doctors to make it known that he survived because it was a Maule. Or, there are ample "survival" parts in a Maule wreck to help you out for the week. Who knows! Looking forward to seeing it though, can't wait to see what bugs he eats!
Hopefully, my insurance underwriter dosen't get this channel.

I hope they had a disclaimer that "no airplanes were hurt in the filming of this show". They didn't actually trash an airplane, did they? If so---shame on them!

Cessna Skywagon -- accept no substitute!

Its one of my favorite shows. Its pretty cool to see how he spends 7 days alone surviving and filming it all himself. NO camera crews involved. The Maule that they used in that episode was from a previous accident and he did quite a number destroying what was left to survive. The rest of the episodes aren't aviation related but interesting none the less. He survives in the arctic, dessert, on the ocean, in the mountains, all for 7 days with nothing. And he does all the filming on his own. I highly recommend it, can't wait for the second season to start.

This show confirmed one thought I had about if I had to do an emergency landing in the winter...

Stay with the plane!

I'm also hoping to get a PLB for Christmas :)
