There was also a movie made around a PBY in around the 70s.
The title was Steel Yard Blues.
I remember one of the punch lines was "One more for Valdini"

General plot as I remember involves leaving people alone to be what ever they want as long as they ar not bothering any one else.

I haven't been able to sit down and read through the whole thing yet, but I've always loved the idea of living out of a DC-3 or Catalina. I've even located a Cat for sale if anyone wants to go in on it..... Fueling could be an issue though when it costs about 7k to top off the tanks
