Re: Sweet Dreams and Nightmares

There was also a movie made around a PBY in around the 70s.
The title was Steel Yard Blues.
I remember one of the punch lines was "One more for Valdini"

General plot as I remember involves leaving people alone to be what ever they want as long as they ar not bothering any one else.

Small addition I know.

It is better to be late in this world, than early in the next.

More of you need to check this true story out. Flying around the world in your Catalina flying yacht. With your family and friends. Land in Saudi Arabia, get attacked with machine guns, try to get away and run aground, get captured.

Great story!! Incredible pictures shot by Life magazine.

Re: Sweet Dreams and Nightmares

I haven't been able to sit down and read through the whole thing yet, but I've always loved the idea of living out of a DC-3 or Catalina. I've even located a Cat for sale if anyone wants to go in on it..... Fueling could be an issue though when it costs about 7k to top off the tanks #-o
