Hello all,
I am looking to add an HD nose fork to my 73 182P and since it had an HD fork option it can be done with just a logbook entry. Plan is a 600 up front and 700 or 800 mains. I have found a nice fork and wheel assembly off a T41 Mescalero and curious if it will work. I am told a C206 or C310 is what most people look for. I have not been able to find either in good shape and this T41 fork has a 6" wheel. I did a bit of research on here and the web and a few say they are using it but in the pics I see the fork yoke looks to be bent and not forged. My friend has a 310 fork made from bent metal. The few T41 pics I have seen also show a bent metal fork so I am a bit unsure that this is actually off a T41. The yoke fork forging has a part number 1442115-497 and after research comes up as a C150 HD fork Forging. So my question anyone on here install a fork from a T41 and did it fit and were any mods required? Also does yours have a Forged yoke or Bent? The seller also gave me the assembly part number as SK175-9 which I keep finding is from various C172 models but it does not mention HD. However if it has a 6" wouldn't that make it an HD fork yoke? Also if the casting is an HD fork for a C150 then my next worry is the vastly different gross weight between a 150 and a 182.
My guess is someone on here knows all these answers and can set me straight on if it will fit or not before I buy it. Fork assembly is complete with scissors and dampener as well but I dont think I need those but spares are always nice to have.
Take care,
Marc
