An “Oregon wind shear” is a local phenomenon with amazing intensity. I was climbing and experienced a similar example at about 2000 MSL. Even if it is calm on the surface, be extremely careful climbing out if you see this type of forecast or PIREP. I know!

Updated forecast:

NWS Forecast Monday 2021.10.24 @ Oregon Coast: Gusts up to 67MPH, which is near hurricane velocity forecasted. Chances of TS also. Watch for flying timber and vehicles!

Not uncommon to see calm surface winds @ TRK and 50kts or more on Mt Rose near the airport. Mountains do funny things with the wind. Low level shear can get your attention no doubt .
