Re: Ted’s R44

Congratulations! Keep the water spots of that dark color! :D

Lucky guy!

After taking 3 trips thru "helicopter rehab" I can only observe from a safe distance, too close and strange things happen to my wallet.

Aloha Kurt!

Thank you! I absolutely love this ship. The black exterior I ordered is really holding a shine, better than predicted. I’m glad I ordered it after some reservations. Interior is grey leather, which is exceptionally comfortable. RHC has great talent.

Re: Ted’s R44

I had leather interior in my Robinson, I agree, very comfy! Look into the Tec-Tool doors, I had them, they are very nice and seal up very well. Airglass makes some neat R-44 accessories
.

Have fun!

Thank you Rob. I’m skiing Bachelor tomorrow, are you up at Madras?

I had an hour+ conversation with Amy Hoover last night about her book and she wants to fly her Scout on floats to Alaska. She was very polite and a joy to communicate with.

Aloha!!

I did the Summit this year! 9060’ Pretty good for a sea level boy.

Thank you Kurt! She flys really smooth!! I just may be able to do this heli gig.

Primary location: Newport, OR. Mike Rowe narrates a “Deadliest Catch” spin off here. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5966720/

It’s also the West Coast HQ for NOAA.

Actually have room in hangar. Small miracle:

Wow, nice fit in the hangar! It looks like you got the 2 eat plus cargo model. Correct?

Ted’s R44 (Video added)

Happy holidays Ted,

Are you seeing ADS-B-in on the pictured Aera 79X GPS [via whatever your receiver is] and, if yes, does the Aera have adequate resolution and brightness for the task?

Merry Chistmas and Happy New Year iPAT! It’s been a fast year! Mahalo for dealing with my newbie concerns. I still owe you lunch!!!

The GARMIN 796 is perfect. Bright and fast! The software is a little different than earlier GARMINs but, intuitive. ADSB in is GDL39 then 796, iPAD, Android share “Blue Tooth”. Really nice.

Mick and I left factory during the Malibu and Paradise fires and turned back to KTOA! We tried flying West of Santa Cruz Island but, smoke was like a freaking nuke went off! Saturday we stayed East and flew HWY I5, the skies were “Orange” up aroung Sacramento. Indescribable.

Hi Joe, I read your epic thread! Man, you made a lot of miles. I was late getting to California and missed you and the HSF.

Thank you for the kind comments! There are so many possibilities up here in Oregon for backcountry helos:

Yes, Kurt. It’s a (2) place “Raven I” AKA Cadet. She burns unleaded too

Aft compartment is really (really) spacious for cargo!
