Texas STOL at Alliance Air Show

The Fort Worth Alliance Air Show http://www.allianceairshow.com asked the Texas STOL Roundup if we'd come as one of the Featured Performers and put on a Texas STOL Roundup style competition demonstration both days. We just completed negotiating the deal today. A main requirement was we arrive on grass, do the competition on grass, and depart from grass. Since this is an airspace waivered event it required FAA approval. As of now we are the lead off performers each days. (I suspect because of our need to use the grass :D) After the competition demo we will be in an area where spectators can come talk with us and ask questions about the planes. We look at this as a chance to introduce pilots, and potential pilots to the coolest, most enjoyable form of aviation. :D

BTW, we have the dates for the 2016 Texas STOL Roundup, and the new artwork.

What kind of prize money is being offered? I did not find it on the posters, sorry if I missed it.
Thanks

The Alliance Airshow is a STOL demonstration, not a competition, so no prize money

The Apache Pass STOL competition the weekend before will have some prize money. I heard $50 for first, $40 for second, and $25 for third, but don't quote me, that's not up to us but to the fly-in organizer. I imagine they'll have it posted on their website soon.

Here is the teaser they produced. Believe it will be shown on the "big screen".

Re: Texas STOL at Alliance Air Show

Working on a video of the demo. We were very well received, by the crowd and by the other performers, including the Raptor pilot (that is a crazy cool plane). Sean Tucker in particular was excited to see us, came over to me twice to express it, and most importantly said we were great for General Aviation and he hoped we'd become part of the airshow circuit. And that's the crazy of it, we are already getting requests for even bigger airshows. Sure blind sided me, I didn't see that coming. I mean we have no fire, smoke, noise, explosions, aerobatics, or high speed passes. And we're not all colonels wearing flight suits. What is going on here? Maybe it's the apparent competition of it cause everyone I met, including Sean, wanted to know who won.

Any way, here are a few photos of guess who. ;-) More of others to follow. And the video of course.
