http://www.adn.com/article/20141219/great-alaska-aviation-gathering-gets-green-light-fedexDespite worries its facility sponsor, FedEx, would pull out, the Great Alaska Aviation Gathering will go on as scheduled next year. FedEx announced this week it would allow the Alaska Airmen's Association to use its Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport hangar for the 2015 event, as it has for the past 17 years...
The Great Alaska Aviation Gathering will be May 2-3 at the FedEx hangar off Postmark Drive.

It's a good gathering and probably doesn't hurt FED EX marketing either. Glad they did not kick the airmen out.
Are they still giving the free plane to a chick every year??????
I just about gave up on it..... :-}
As my Eskimo students used to say.... "I jokes"
They also used the expression: gonna go catch a deer.
Always liked that one.

Flying is dangerous. If you think otherwise, you are new at this sport. Mind the gravity not the gap.

Just saw yesterday the update that it was in question. This is great news. I've already put in leave for the 11 days to explore this and the Valdez fly in with my family. Was a little sad and disheartening to think of the gathering not happening.

Awesome! Always look forward to the show, especially as its the precursor to Valdez.
Last year's raffle plane has been sitting as a static display at the Alaska Airlines ticket counter. I shed a tear every time I walk by...

I walked by that Supercub display the other night at about 1 AM and there were about a dozen people there looking at it. I don't think you could find a better plug for "BackCountry Aviation" than that.
