The Aviators

Just finished reading this on deployment. It's by Winston Groom, the same guy that wrote Forrest Gump. Really nice way of writing about the history of three of the most prolific aviators to date. I learned a ton of new stuff about each of them.

I also read Higher Call which is an incredible WW2 story about a German fighter pilot who escorted a badly damaged B17 back to safety.

Both are worth a read if the smoke has you grounded for a bit.

Re: The Aviators

The Aviators is a great read. I've also had the audio book for long trips in my car. Rickenbacher, Doolittle and Lindbergh were/are icons of aviation for a very good reason.
