This is why I prefer the Cessna Pilots' Society. Cool group of people, and it's free. Seems like mostly 182 and 210 fliers but that's doesn't necessarily make somebody bad. :P

Backcountrypilot.org is all I need!! Through thick and thin, this is by far the best forum on the net for flying, backcountry flying, and many other topics!! Thanks again Zane for all your hard work and dedication!! You da man!!

I been thinking about this all through the night and one thing comes to mind.

It's amazing how people like this like to put their nose in things. We have these people being airport police, we have these people being radio police, now we have them policing this web site. WOW! they need to get a life. If they don't like what is here, stay away.

Just my opinion, I hope I didn't hurt anybody's feelings.

Re: The Dreaded Canyon Bottom Hammerhead (video)

well I guess some advice here. I never submit pics or vids of my adventures, for they can go into the hands of some people and get taken the wrong way, or be used against me is some unforseable fasion. Just something that I have learned. I know this one is way cool. But others seem to think it's not.

A lot of people think that way, and they have a fair point I guess.

BUT, I'm sure glad Pops posts his videos for all to see. Thanks Coyote Ugly! =D>

I'm glad he does too. The detractors can take a hike. It really looks like a lot of fun but if they don't want to do it, nobody's making them do it. I'd love to do it if I had the nerve. Well, everybody's gotta go sometime! Right? Ahem ahem... Ah, sorry about that Chief.

That's the nature of the beast. Sharing on the internet, especially in forums, opens you up to scrutiny. There will always be someone standing by to stink up the joint.

And what do we care about other forums?? :P I want to fly that canyon in my ultralight. Alone.

Re: The Dreaded Canyon Bottom Hammerhead (video)

People are always trying to convince everyone that their way of thinking is right even though they have never seen life from the other side. A skier on the Bunny hill might look at some guy crashing straight down a mogel field and say "that guy is crazy". What people don't understand that what might seem crazy to one guy might be a Challange to someone with a higher skill level.

Pops obviously is a highly skilled pilot. I doubt he would go in there if he thought he was going to die. Now if I went in there, I would be crazy and would probably die for sure. The guy trashing everyone who flys low and slow on the other site has no conception of what he is talking about. He probably has never done it and from his posts he thinks no one should be allowed to do it.

Anyway, Great video Pops. I hope someday I will have half your skill.

Jerry

Don't be fooled.....It was a model airplane being flown by a bored predator pilot behind a computer in Afghanistan....no one is allowed to have that much fun trying to scare the back country pilot clan!

People must not have much to do, if they can get all wound up about flying in a canyon.

Good grief. Not everywhere looks like Kansas....... ](*,)

That is how most things are done on most sites. Just remove them. I thought the vid was way cool and my thanks also for posting it. It's one of those things that when your stuck in the office you can watch and dream away. Yes, I do those things also. I call them trench runs. I to would love to go down there and fly it in my kitfox and heck why not, the RV as well.
