I just finished reading "The Few" by Alex Kershaw. I really enjoyed it. It chronicles mostly the story of a handful of Americans who went to fight with the RAF when it was against the law to do so. America was trying to stay out of the war and forbid any americans going to fight with the British. A few of these young guys were flying 45hp puddle jumpers over here and they wanted a chance to fly Spitfires. Anyway, they sure got their chance. They basically had to sneak out of this country to go fly fighters for England. A great story that was well researched. I didnt know this before, but only 7 americans were flying for the RAF during the actual "Battle of Britain". More came later.
