I remember watching this on his show..man how things have changed!
I also remember he ended his show with " And may God Bless"

I saw one of the shows when someone asked him why he said it that way and I liked his answer. He said, "I say May God Bless because I know who God is and it's not me so I ask instead of tell." That's not a direct quote because I was... I don't know how old and I'm 52 now. Anyway, I'll get to meet him someday, and everyone else that's there.

Re: The Pledge of Allegiance 1969 Red Skelton

My family and I knew Red Skelton. He was a very very sincere, nice gentleman. Every bit as good-hearted of a man in person as he seemed on television. I'm unaware of anyone else in the entertainment business (or elsewhere) who had anything but glowing praise for him.

I've seen his pledge of allegiance and agree fully that it should be required viewing at schools, town halls, and at each and every immigration proceeding.

This pledge should ESPECIALLY be shown (repeatedly, perhaps with the assistance of a few veterans) to one particular member of the executive branch

It makes me sad. Where have freedom and justice gone? What pledge would Red Skelton recite today?

Now hurry through that TSA naked scanner (You could be a terrorist, for all I know.)

Make sure you're truly in compliance with all the thousands of pages of IRS jargon before you sign your tax returns.

And don't be a felon. Oh wait. You already are; http://www.threefeloniesaday.com/Youtoo ... fault.aspx Curiously, this site doesn't delve into the Lacey Act as it relates to fish and game violations. (Hint: if you fish or hunt across state lines, you are almost certainly a felon.)

God bless America. And be careful to comply. [-X
