Thermal optics

Anyone on here have much experience with thermal sights? Was looking at the AGM Rattler and the Infiray Rico Micro series today at the local gunstore. They are the only two units they had in stock. Have spend a bit of time trying to research different options, but not having a lot of luck with finding more than a couple of shooters commenting on whatever they have and are happy with it. Guessing due to the high cost of them, most buyers are happy with whatever they can afford.
Anyone have a recommendation of what they have used.
Thanks

One of those is a sight and one is a multi use clip on. The IRAY clip on doesnt have a collimated eyepiece however so you will need to re-zero whatever you put it in front of because of the image shift. Sights are nice if youre going to have a dedicated set up. If youre planning on putting it on and taking it off then its a PIA. The IRAY clip on is nice that its versatile but being a hybrid sight, view, clip on it doesnt really do any of those well.
Price is going to be a gating item but I wouldnt look at anything that doesnt have a 640 core. Not all 640 cores are equal as well. Look at the temperature sensitivity. The lower the rating the better. If its low enough youll be able to use the thermal in the daytime when temperature variances are less. Its really nice. Display resolution matters too but not as much as the core. If you put a HD display on a 320 core itll be like piping SD TV broadcast into a 1080 TV.
In short, if youre looking for a dedicated thermal rig, get a sight. If youre wanting to put this on and take it off a rifle as needed then get a clip on. If youre going to get a clip on get one with a collimated eyepiece so you dont need to rezero your day optic every time you put your thermal on (caused by image shift of a non-collimated eyepiece).
If you have more questions feel free to message me on here.
