Understood. We have two pole barn hangars. One with a 50x50 with a bifold door, and the other a 50x100 with a hydroswing. I built the smaller myself, and it was about 25k finished. The other was perhaps 65k built for us. We live in dry country, so the posts don't see moisture. I prefer the operation of the bifold, except that it has latches on the inside to suck it up the last few inches to stay tight. It sticks out less, especially in motion, has less wind load, and needs less support structure in the building to hold the cantilever loads. It also needed less snow clearing to get it open wide enough to plow across the front of the hangar. The hydroswing could be opened with a garage door opener though, which was very nice.
That airport shut down, and I'm now at an airport on ground leases that require steel, so the high cost makes sense if it is required.
