Bush - it wasn't my story, I was just commenting on Tim's story ... so I was probably just sticking my nose (wheel) where it didn't belong anyway!
So I know you may not believe me, but I believe you.

Being a nosewheel guy, because that's what my current aircraft has (and no, with apologies to Tadpole, I'm not going to remove it and stick it in the tailcone a la TriPacer -> Pacer conversion), I still have all the respect in the world for the guys who own and fly taildraggers. I want to earn a conventional gear rating one of these days, and I'm pondering a possible future purchase of a SuperCub one of these days too.

But I am pretty sure that no airplane that flies is going to cause me to vomit. That is, unless it's got a picture of Helen Thomas or Hillary Clinton painted on it somewhere (searching for the vomit icon ...)

I guess it is the same as a lot of places, the majority really does not count for much. [-X [-X

Re: This Stinson makes me wanna vomit!

When the first 172 came out, they called it a 172 Land O Matic. Love my 182, but grew up in a helio courier flying around with pops. Currently entertaining the idea of selling my 182 and getting a 180. Seems like a no brainer.

I dont want to start a nose verse tail wheel conversation here, but the 182 goes anywhere the 180 does. Would you upgrade to a 206 or a 180? The 206 wont go where the 182 or 180 will. The tail wheel allows you to turn around better obviously. Just curious where the opinions go from here as I just dont feel like a pilot until I am dragging my tail. Grew up in AK and spent countless hours in and out of the bush in tail wheels. Never once in a "Land O Matic" (except for the 206, with floats) until my plane came along 12 years ago. Too much money into it now...

That's great stuff. Helen is so versatile, she could also play lead in the Ramp Mummies thread.

I have an....

....OBama08.... bumper sticker on my Maule. Guess that makes some folks vomit! I admire Helen Thomas, Hillary Clinton and John McCain. Also own several guns: think we should seal the U.S. borders, have serious issues with "illegal aliens", pay lots of taxes, am a patriot, love my country, served in the military, believe in balanced budget(ala the Clinton administration =D> ) sing in the church choir, do volunteer, humanitarian flying, am a "moderate liberal/liberal conservative" voted republican for 24 years and democrat for the last 18, once even offered to campaign for George Wallace, enjoy backcountry flying, backpacking/camping, gardening, writing, my wife, kids and grandkids.

Fire away.....but please don't throw me off of BCP. [-o<

Is that sticker still on your Maule? :?
I bet that 99.9% of BCP pilots would not fly off leaving you for dead after a crash on their way to AK, no matter what you had on your plane. :)

Tadpole, I wouldn't worry about it. Things been a little boring around here lately anyway. I laugh every time I read the name of this thread.

Z3Skykolt, that explains a lot! :D When I was picking up a rental car in Little Rock last week, I asked the kid working there what I should see before I left. He told me there is a Clinton Library Museum in Town. I asked if that is where Bill's Porno collection was and the kid just gave me a blank stare. Guess he didn't think it was very funny.

Don't worry TP, it was bound to happen. The good thing about politics is that everyone has an opinion. Besides, it has been over a week since politics has been mentioned on BCP.

As far as the Stinson, not my cup of tea, but I'm sure it flys nice once off the ground. ;)

Hell, I may still end up buying a TriPacer...I have four planes on my list I look at regularly...but only 3 of them could honestly be a reality....they are Pacer, TriPacer, Stinson, and C182.

I can't imagine it'd fly too much different once in the air. It wouldn't really make me vomit...I just was trying to have a snappy title for the thread! Matt, we need to go fly soon...I'm getting closer to feeling able....mentally I'm ready, I'm dying to get in the air!

Let me know when you're ready TP, things are getting busy with the wedding, but I can always find some time to fly the Stinson.

Tadpole, you should consider a stait tail 182 cus they are just like Bob here, a little of everything. I kind of like that.

They're on my list...I've always loved straight tailed 182s...oddly enough got hooked on them in Alaska. But that's the one in my list that is a little less realistic. There are some good deals on them, but they cost more to purchase...and I know that engine costs more to operate than the O--320s in the Pacers.

Matt - my example of vomit-inducing aircraft art has only a superficial relationship to politics ... just check out the horror movie poster Tim offered up ... if that doesn't make you wanna puke, I don't know what would.

I'm sure there must be some liberal Democrat babes worthy of gracing the sides of one our beloved airplanes ... such as The Obama Girl of the fawning music video in '08 .... on the other hand, maybe most of the real babes are working as news anchors over on Fox News :D
