Thomas Creek work party 4/12/08

IAA has the Thomas Creek work party planned for the 12th. I was planning on flying in Friday but am not sure I'll make it at all. Just thought I'd throw it out there for anyone who might want to go.

I've been watching for a date change because of the cool wet weather but I haven't heard of anything yet...perhaps someone who is actually a member of IAA knows more.

Actually, NWS still thinks the weekend will be nice, maybe 65 in the canyon, so I'm thinking it will be a go.

Are you going Rocky? If I end up going I will likely go to Indian Creek on Friday and hike down to Thomas because me wife will be with me and we'll have camping gear. I'm apprehensive about Thomas because my Grandpa balled up his Luscombe there.

I'm scheduled to haul two Islander loads into Thomas Cr on Saturday for the IAA. I don't know what I'm taking, but that would be a lot of stuff. The forecast for Saturday at this point is clear and sunny. We just need to clear this next bit of weather that's supposed to hit us tonight.

I attended the work party on Saturday...well kind of. My wife and I few in Friday and hiked up to a hot spring that is just up stream a few miles. We slept in and then spent a while cleaning out the spring. I was hoping to get packed up and down to the strip before John arrived but I was too slow. By the time I get back they were about half done with the work so I just jumped in and helped where I could. I think most of the people there thought I was somebody's kid, one guy asked me which guy was my Dad...my wife gets asked all the time if she older than me.

IAA put up a two shelters that are just big enough to cover one table each. They also had tables to put under them. They only set the poles for the shelters and will go back after the concrete cures and finish them.

Hahaha. I know what you mean. Enjoy it. I guess it's a lot better than somebody asking who's dad you are.

Half a century spent proving “it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”

Whee, I saw your Luscombe there on Saturday morning, but I had to keep moving. Looked like a good turn out, there were a lot of planes there for an April Saturday. The weather sure was a treat though. Now, back to the snow.

I suppose you are right, I just get tired of having to show I.D. to buy super-glue...I'm 25 dang it!!!

L&S,

I figured you would be there long enough to unload and that was about it...maybe next time.
