Jebb Corliss, one of the best. Same guy that wants to land in Vegas without a rig on.

I haven't talked to him in years but I remember pondering how far all of this would go some day...and he's been doing it!

That guy gives new meaning to the term "he's a good flier", I mean he's the pilot and the airplane all at the same time

Re: through a waterfall in a wingsuit

Basically he wants to jump into a high cylinder that creates an angle from vertical to horizontal over 500 ft or so. The idea is to fall into the cylinder and let the curve of the cylinder decelerate you as you slowly transfer from vertical to horizontal. Make sense? Think of a giant l shape contraption. I think you can find it on go fast sports. Google jeb Corliss no parachute landing stunt. You will find it.

Re: through a waterfall in a wingsuit

Wow. That will be a big commitment the first time he jumps without gear.

Re: through a waterfall in a wingsuit

I've been wondering ever since I heard of wingsuits, how long it would be before someone just lands one with no chute. This guy is getting close, awesome...

Re: through a waterfall in a wingsuit

From the NY Times article...

Some wing suit pilots have briefly slowed the vertical descent to about 30 miles an hour. But they are moving forward horizontally at 75 m.p.h. Even if a pilot could achieve such speeds, Mr. Potvin said, any slight wrong movement could cause a crash and certain death.

That's the VSI pegged at over 2,500 ft/min descent rate, with airspeed at 75 MPH. Whole lot of energy to get rid of somewhere.

At the end of the day, do you think that the helmets sit on a shelf and talk? One helmet says to the other one, "It's a good thing that guy was there, or I'd have hit the ground directly!"
