Time to consider a little food planning for the Utah Flyin

Rod had offered to do a steak dinner one night at Caveman if there was enough interest. Actually, he'd probably do it if just 1 was interested, but I thought that it would probably be more worth the effort if more were interested. And personally, I'd be fine w/burgers and beans, and beer of course :).

Nothin too specific about the menu, and I think simpler the better considering what he has to work with. He had mentioned steak and corn. I think corn of the cobb would be a long shot that time of year. Atleast any that is any good. Maybe steak, beans, potatoe????

I think he was talking about $25.00 forthe dinner. I may have posted it earlier. CRS ya know. #-o

And I had considered doing a group b'fast if there was any interest in that. Somethin like pancakes and sausage, maybe b'fast burritos. Juice??? $8/plate. Think he is gonna have coffee there.??

Hey Gary. Count me in for both. My 2 cents, collect in advance. Thanks for working with Rod and planning this. Let me know where to send the check. Cheers

Well, lets use this month to see how much interest we get. Then let the check fly.

This is bringing roughing it in the wilds of UT to a new level! I will be there with at least one of my boys. Let me know when you need the cash.

Gary,

I ate a LOT of MRE's last summer so anything would be a godsend. X2 on collecting in advance and I wouldn't mind sending a check or using paypal. If you could do a dinner and b'fast for $30 p/p that would be great.

Thanks

Re: Time to consider a little food planning for the Utah Flyin

Gary,

Thanks for all the work. I'm planning on being there with my two sons if the work "man" allows. I have a 4wd vehicle parked at the Moab airport if anyone needs wheels to run into town for supplies. Do you know how involved it is to drive over to Caveman from Moab?? Ive only done the road on the other side of the Colorado down to Chicken Corners.

Let me know if/when you need cash or additional help.

You have a 4wd?! Maybe a quick run up Pritchett Canyon is in order. It's been almost 2 years since I've run that trail.

Gary,
I'm in for whatever you need me for. From the sounds of the chatter, just lay out the program and a bunch will follow.
I'm looking forward to this!

My favorite flyin resort in the area is Gateway Canyons
http://www.gatewaycanyons.com/

This is a great spot. I would recommend going there sometime while you are in the area. They have a nice BLM strip(Hubbard 9CO3), about a 15 min. walk from the resort. Sometimes they will even give ya a ride if you want one.

They have a market/deli incase you need any supplies. They have auto gas. They have a great restaurant with fair prices, serving 3 meals daily. Full bar. They have a very cool car museum featuring cars from the turn of the century through early 70's muscle cars. There is a motel/pool.

I say this just as a consideration, that you might want to fly over there oe morning for breakfast, check out the museum, or maybe lunch, or dinner one evening.

I want to talk with Rod and verify menu/cost before ya start sending any money.

I'm in as I posted Shortfielder. Will probably be flying in on Friday with Dirtstrip if all goes as planned. Looking foreward to meeting the crowd. Either weekend looks good. HC

Just so everyone knows. If you pay me for meals/rooms in advance, and we have to go to the alternate weekend, and you can't make it, your money will be promptly returned in full, or your check shredded.
