Tio 540 ak1a static rpm
Lycoming, Continental, Hartzell, McCauley, or any broad spectrum drive system component used on multiple type.
Finished Installing my factory rebuilt TIO 540 and overhauled prop in my 182 and can't get static RPM above 2100. Engine passed test cell, so I imagine it has to be the governor set screw or the prop low pitch stop or something sticking/not closing. Before overhaul engine had same bs happen. I'm sick of the amount of hand tweaking guesstimating that goes on when setting RPM. I'm worried about glazing cylinder walls with so much trial/error, but I'm no way in he'll taking off without static RPM within range 2300-2400. Anyone have similar woes when reinstalling an engine/prop?
