Tire Size

After talking to Desser about the casings I sent in for recapping, and the multiple calls I had to make to ensure they actually received the tires, I doubt if they will be able to answer his question. Surprisingly, they seem to be very disorganized. It took over a month to get my tires back.

Tire size varies with each manufacturer, whether it is airplane tires, car tires or motorcycle tires. Apparently, there is leeway in sizing. My GY 8.50's are 20.5" tall, installed, with 26 PSI. My buddy's McCreary's on his 185 are 19.8" tall with the same parameters.

I'm a little surprised at that. About 3 weeks ago I was going through all this. Called them 2-3 times and got very good(I thought), immediate answers. Asking about tires sizes, weights, matching tires, etc. At the time, I think one of the guys they referred me to ws Anthony/Tony?

My GY recaps are about 22"'s tall. I have read on another forum where they seemed to be prefferred my some. I had the GY's and decided to stay with them. Because of the added height ,wearability, and the stiffer side walls possably giving a little extra rim protection at lower air pressures. They are also heavier, but I am OK with that for my application.
