Time will tell.
He has nominally been against privatizing ATC. He has an interesting assortment of checkoffs on his resume for the job. He is a proponent of Nextgen, but who knows if that's a good thing or a bad thing at this point given the troubled rollout.
And it's anyone's guess how he will be able to navigate the 737-MAX problems. SWA is looking at other airframe makers pretty hard now, which officially declares there's a snow storm in Hades, and who knows the direction the FAA will pivot certification processes to keep that from happening so the MAX airframes won't end up in beer cans.
