Frankly, I have a lot to do with Chinese suppliers - while there are still a lot of crappy companies in China, many of them have become absolutely top notch. China is also not the cheap place anymore which it used to be, the salaries for qualified jobs continue to increase rapidly. Countries like Vietnam are the ones which have adopted the role of the cheap producer, which China previously had.
Other than many larger US organisations, Chinese companies also tend to be more willing to make long-term strategical decisions and investments and to stick with them longer than to the next quarterly report.
