Best BCP Threads?--Looking for Recommendations

How am I supposed to slack off at work if I'm refreshing my BCP page more often than you guys are submitting new posts?

With this crisis in mind, I thought it might be interesting to get your ideas on the "Best BCP Thread Ever."

When the question first occurred to me, I thought immediately of the "What Have You Done For a Living" thread. I've gotten a ton of enjoyment out of it:
http://www.backcountrypilot.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=5864

I'd be thrilled to get your recommendations on what other threads I should be reading (including any subcategories you want to offer: funniest, most amazing, most likely to keep you alive, etc.)

Don't let me down here. [-o< If I don't get any recommendations, I'm in danger of having to get some actual work done...

I like the "where did you fly today?" thread. Apparently a few other people do as well... its 166 pages long!

Re: Best BCP Thread Ever?--Looking for Recommendations

1] Where did you fly today

2] Hot Air thought of the day. Interesting statistic: Number 2 in highest number of post. It is a hidden thread and only been around since February 2011.

3] All post about our Johnson Creek Fly in.

Re: Best BCP Thread Ever?--Looking for Recommendations

There is no single best thread. It's the breadth and variety of backcountry flying topics that make up the value. We should have a hall of fame forum though for the threads that provide the richest gems of information. Sorry Rob, Hot Air doesn't qualify :)

If I had to choose one thing to read here for pure enjoyment, it would definitely be thumbing through the Trip Reports forum. I've found my own threads in there of flights I'd totally forgotten about :) Thank the scientists for digital photography and the Internet!

Re: Best BCP Thread Ever?--Looking for Recommendations

To summarize, so far (for my own one-stop shopping purposes):

What have you done for a living:
http://www.backcountrypilot.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=5864

What kind of plane do you fly:
http://www.backcountrypilot.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=5087

Where did you fly today:
http://www.backcountrypilot.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=697

What do you think is funny:
http://www.backcountrypilot.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=8846

How do I hydroplaning the wheels (an all-time classic):
http://www.backcountrypilot.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2107

Personally, I've also learned a lot from the "Stupid stuff my buddy did" thread:
http://www.backcountrypilot.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=4382

Having listed those big categories which seem to be the consensus favorites, I'm also interested in those "Hall of Fame" type threads that Zane referred to. Anyone have a thread or two that stands out in their mind as being particularly hilarious/poignant/entertaining/informative/important? In other words, those threads that most deserve to be resurrected from time to time?

I don't mean to beat a dead horse, but I view BCP as an incredible treasure chest of experiences, insights, and personalities (thanks, Zane, you've got a really cool thing here). I appreciate everyone's input about the best of the best, so I can enjoy even more the process of digging through old threads. =D>
