There is more snow in California than Oregon too.

I may not put the skis on this year. Not looking good for snow in Oregon.

Re: Torrance, CA colder than Newport, OR (snow forecast?)

Interesting.

I have a bad feeling about this winter...

Most of the country appears to be taking it in the shorts so far. Seems like the northeast and mid Atlantic states are spared so far with warmer than normal weather.

The mountains of Washington have already gotten snow, and here in the eastern Washington desert we have already received measurable rain twice.

Forcast here calls for below freezing lows (indeed the teens) starting in about 7-10 days.

Contrary to many, I LIKED the drought. More time on my motorcycles and up in my airplane.

Re: Torrance, CA colder than Newport, OR (snow forecast?)

Since I'm pondering Weather, I thought about how Hawaii is missing all the severe Storms this year. There were massive Hurricanes/Typhoons (same thing just different location) and deep lows all around and the only indication was some light rain and swells.

Composite picture of Central Pacific lows (sustained 50+kts) this year. The seven main islands remained pretty calm. Good Karma.

My opinion...A drought is Mother Natures way of saying to developers "Quit building suburban track homes and golf courses in a desert, and then screaming bloody murder about lack of water"

Thank you for your thoughts Doctor. Fly safe and stay under the RADAR.

I'll be here 20-JAN-16 . Send me a note if you like George!

A few friends are moving shop after 25 years in business, so there is tons of engines and airframe parts that need a new home. Garage sale on steroids!

KTOA was comparatively brisk this morning, and all this mornings' surfers I saw were in wetsuits.
Yesterday's snow atop Mt San Antonio to the north is gone.
Beautiful flying weather, and some whales spouting just offshore.

Really cold! I was there in July and it was great, water was perfect: "...California dreaming..."

You are close to TOA? The airport has changed a lot since it was a farmer's market and surrounded by corn fields!

I used to watch Bob Hoover and his Yellow P51 there many decades ago. Before Frank Robinson started on the North Ramp.

Have fun!

Is that a scout or 7GCBC fuselage? Wonder how much shipping to Canada would be...

Re: Torrance, CA colder than Newport, OR (snow forecast?)

Hi A1,

Was a fully aerobatic Citabria. This Citabria was flown for spin and tailwheel training for a number of years.

The present spars are wood but, we have aluminum spars ready to change out. I do not know what happened to the engine it might of been stolen (I will look around for it).

To ship to Seattle would be about $700.00 I estimate. No idea to Canada!

Ok. The 7GCBC is aerobatic as well, just had flaps. I would only be interested if it was that model. Seattle isn't too far away, may have to take a road trip. As far as the spars go, I'd probably end up buying factory new wings so I get the GW increase and larger struts.

Let me ask the guy who owns it. He flys international and is never here to work on it. Brings me to tears seeing it sitting there. But, I have to many projects! I would love to see her at a good home being rebuilt!
