Toyota FV4000-2T engine, certificated
Lycoming, Continental, Hartzell, McCauley, or any broad spectrum drive system component used on multiple type.
Decent power to weight ratio, too.

About 40 years ago Porsche got their flat 6 engine certified. The only new manufacturer that used it was Mooney, you could buy a Mooney 231 with a Continental or Porsche engine, firewall back was identical. If I remember correctly, the Porsche engine version had 6 pounds less useful load, cruised 4 mph slower, and cost $48,000.00 more to buy new, they didn't sell very many.
