Trailing edge crack repair ???

Hi All, was just getting ready for a nice evening flight with our Aeronca Chief last night and during the preflight I found a crack in the trailing edge between the 2nd and 3rd ribs closest to the fuselage. No indication of why it should have cracked, no other apparent damage or other kinks in the trailing edge. Any suggestions on how to fix this would be appreciated. I know the trailing edge is aluminum. Thanks, Jim Chuk

PS meant to post a couple of pics, but I can't figure out how to do this.

Re: Trailing edge crack repair ???

Just cut away a little fabric and splice another piece of trailing edge material in. Then patch the fabric.

Re: Trailing edge crack repair ???

Thanks Tango Fox. Just the info on the metal work I was looking for. Now all I need is the section of the ceconite manual that deals with small repairs on fabric. I have about 4 Polyfiber manuals, and enough chemicals to do 2 airplanes, but nothing for the ceconite/randolf's systems. Guess what is on this plane? :-)
Thanks, again, Jim Chuk
