Trench route: No fuel at Mackenzie
Get together with other pilots or enthusiasts. Plan it or get info about it here.
From user L-19 Hawk:
I just (5-18-21) spoke with Vicki at Trench fuels Mackenzie, to learn they are out of business, the port of Mackenzie is installing fuel pumps, and they WILL NOT be ready to dispense fuel in June. Call ahead and plan accordingly...

Half a century spent proving “it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”
So sad to hear. I told Allen and he rightly asked if the ice cream will be self serve too. Stopping to talk with Vicki was a sort of rite of passage. And of course the ice cream! I’m so glad that we got to experience that. This is a huge loss for those flying the trench. Her knowledge and condition reports are irreplaceable.

Sad. They gave better service than we can ever expect from the town.

Unfamiliar, what "trench" is being discussed? I googled "Mackenzie airport" and found one in Canada. Is this a route between the lower 48 and AK?

If you pull up a chart and find Mackenzie, you will see a long valley running NW pointed at Watson lake. That is the "Trench" only two points with fuel on that route. For me, that was right at the edge of my fuel range.
Mackenzie was always a great stop, very friendly people with the cheapest fuel of the flight across Canada

I flew the Trench from Watson Lake to Mackenzie in 2016 in my Supercub. I filled up at Watson Lake with 60 gallon with aux tanks. I found a pamphlet that listed all of the airports along the trench. One was a one way in, one way out. I lost the pamphlet. It was a great trip. I landed or did a roller on everyone of them. Would love to see that map again.

I believe it’s in the PDFs for the article I wrote. If not, I have a copy of it that was given to me.

Interesting article. Couldn't find the map.

That is it!! Can you make a PDF of it?

I have this little pamphlet.... is this the one you had?

Might be able to autotrace it to generate a vector based PDF but that JPG version is high res enough to print.
There's nothing special about an image embedded in a PDF. The size and printed quality will be the same unless it's been traced to a vector format, and even then you're only as good as the data you start with.
Would be nice to find a better copy of the original map.
